Congratulations to Jean Nimmo who won our lottery rollover of £10,000!
Jean has supported Teesside Hospice for 26 years, since 1997!
Jean has unfortunately experienced cancer as her mother passed away when she was 14, so Jean, to prevent her and her siblings entering care, made it her responsibility to care for the family so her father was able to work.
Jean’s father was diagnosed with bowel cancer and sadly passed away in 2001. Jean’s parents were also supporters of the lottery in aid of cancer charities, which is the reason why Jean supports us!
‘I spoke on the phone with Sophie, she said she didn’t want to give too much away so I was anxious thinking what I could’ve won, I said to my family, I think I’ve won something on the Teesside Hospice Lottery, I didn’t expect it to be £10,000!
Since me and my husband have retired, we have tried to travel as much as we can, we’re always in and out of the country, we spoke about one day buying a motor home. I have 4 Children and 9 Grandchildren, so I’ll also share my winnings with them’.
‘If you can support the lottery then do it, it’s for the good of the hospice. You can win a lovely prize but that’s not what it’s about, it’s about supporting those who need that care’.
