We’re so touched by the Year 4 pupils at Whinney Banks Primary School, who created the “Hug in a Mug” project as part of BiG KIDS' brilliant Boro Cereal initiative.

Boro Cereal, run by BiG KIDS, empowers children in Middlesbrough schools to make a difference in their community – inspired by the global Boro Soup movement.

This was an idea which came directly from the children who were worried that patients and their families at Teesside Hospice might be feeling lonely; the children wanted to do something to let them know that others were thinking of them. The children will design mugs which will then be filled with treats and gifts then delivered to patients at the hospice making them feel loved and supported.

A huge thank you to Whinney Banks Primary School for choosing to support our hospice for their project. We can’t wait to receive them, what a thoughtful gesture from such inspiring young minds!
