"It’s the best care in the world you can have"
When Jeff first heard the word hospice, he was apprehensive. “It was the term ‘end of life’ that scared me,” he said. “But my opinion on hospice care has completely changed.”
Our Head of Corporate Development Julie Burniston and Head of Fundraising Channon Barlow were thrilled to spend an afternoon with the team from AV Dawson recently – showing them around our amazing Hospice and celebrating their decision to become our latest Corporate Partners.
AV Dawson is a multimodal freight logistics and port operator based on the River Tees which specialises in port activities, logistics handling and transporting bulk materials, heavy goods, and oversized cargo. The group serves various industries including construction, energy, renewables and manufacturing.
Representing the Group were Chairman Gary Dawson, Deputy Chairman John Young, Group Financial Director Louise Croce and Communications Business Partner Lucy Tyreman - and their visit certainly struck a chord, with each impressed and moved by the work we do.
Following the visit, Gary Dawson said: “The AV Dawson Group is proud to become a corporate partner of Teesside Hospice.
“Our business was founded less than 900m away from the Hospice, and our values and purpose are closely aligned.
The charity is an integral part of the Teesside community and the work they do is vital so many people.
I look forward to seeing our partnership flourish.”
Welcome to #Team Teesside AV Dawson – we’re delighted to have you onboard!
We're changing lives across Teesside by supporting people and families who've been affected by a terminal illness.
When Jeff first heard the word hospice, he was apprehensive. “It was the term ‘end of life’ that scared me,” he said. “But my opinion on hospice care has completely changed.”
Nancy, a patient at our Lymphoedema Clinic, shared how through our support, she’s been able to live life to the fullest, enjoying swimming, long walks, and even a trip to India!
We are incredibly grateful to Jen for fundraising in memory of her Aunty Kay who received care at Teesside Hospice.
