An unforgettable evening celebrating our hospice family while fundraising for our care. This evening has been created with the help of our supporters in Teesside, for everyone who has played a part in the Teesside Hospice story. Whether you've fundraised, volunteered, received support, remembered a loved one or simply believe in the work we do, we'd love you to celebrate with us.
Taking place on Friday 18th September from 6:45pm till late, join us at Bloom Middlesbrough for a 2-course meal, welcome drink, live music from Last Anthem, guest speakers, the chance to listen and share inspirational stories, games, raffles, dancing and so much more – all for just £45 per person.
This event came to life thanks to the help of one of our amazing supporters, Beth, who wanted an opportunity for her family and others across Teesside to come together to celebrate all that we do.
Beth shared: “Teesside Hospice is a charity so close to my heart. The hospice is where my dad spent the last month of his life, days after my mum died. Before I ever went to the hospice, I was honestly terrified of what it would be like. My mum had always spoken so highly about it after visiting a friend, but I (and my dad) really didn’t know what to expect. When people say hospices are incredible, they couldn’t be more right. It was the most calm, respectful place we could have wished for my dad. When he arrived at the hospice, Dr John asked my dad what he wanted from the hospice and his reply was ‘to live as long as possible’. We thought that Dr John was paying dad lip service when they said they would do everything they could, but they really went above and beyond to make that happen.
The hospice made it possible for my dad to attend my mum’s funeral, with the private ambulance driver taking him and waiting for dad until he was ready to leave, and staff coming in on their day off to help my dad with his oxygen and medication. They also looked after Lisa and me during a time which can only be described as a real-life nightmare, and we couldn’t be more grateful. They’re nothing short of amazing.”
Join Beth’s family and so many others at our community celebration evening this September – together we want to remember those no longer with us, celebrate the impact of our community and continue to make a difference.
A special thank you to Lauren Woods at By Four Eyes Design for creating the graphic design for this event. Lauren has a personal, meaningful connection to Teesside Hospice after her mam sadly passed away on our Inpatient Unit earlier this year. Lauren has shared how following the care and support her mam and wider family received, she wanted to find a way to give back to Teesside Hospice:
“Mam was always someone who cared deeply about other people, so supporting a charity that cared for her and our family in such a meaningful way feels like a fitting way to honour her. After seeing first-hand the difference the hospice makes, I wanted to give something back and help other families receive the same care and support when they need it most. We can never truly repay Teesside Hospice for everything they gave us, but fundraising is my way of saying thank you and helping them continue to be there for other families, just as they were there for ours.”
If you are attending our event as a group, we advise booking your tickets together so that we know you are in the same party. If you’re unable to book your tickets together, please include the names of who you are attending with on the booking form, and we will do our best to seat your party together on the evening.
The dress code for this event is formal evening wear – bring your best frocks and suits, ladies and gents!
We’d also like to note that Bloom Middlesbrough has no dance floor, so there may be dancing around your tables.
