Long Service Awards 20/21

Today we celebrated some of the incredible individuals that work for us. We got together to show our appreciation for our staff and volunteers that have helped us to provide care to local people over the years. 

Overall we were celebrating 78 staff and volunteers receiving awards from 2020 and 2021. This equalled an AMAZING 970 years’ service.

The event was hosted by Chief Executive of Teesside Hospice, David Smith and Chair of the Trustee, Elaine Criddle. They were there to say thank you to the staff and volunteers, as well as hand out their personal certificate and badge.

There were many different stories to why people have been with us for such a long time, but one volunteer mentioned 'it's such a happy place to work'. Below are photos from the day and a few of our exciting stories.

Merrin, Teresa and Margaret (above) have all volunteered with us for 30 years in the Marske shop.

We have 3 Doctors who have 40 years long service with us between them, Ruth (20 years), Rosie (15 years), Sara (5 years)

Father and son, Maurice has volunteered for 20 years and Paul has worked with us for 5 years.

Teresa and Ian (above) are a married couple and between them have given 45 years' service to the hospice. 

We always feel lucky for the caring, compassionate and friendly staff and volunteers we have, and today it felt incredible to celebrate some of them and their amazing achievements.
