How long have you volunteered with Teesside Hospice?
Its coming up to a year.
Which area of Teesside Hospice do you volunteer in and what do you do day to day?
Coulby Newham store. When I first started, I was in the back doing the sorting. Now I am on the till serving customers checking the stock and it has also built up my confidence.
What is the reason you started to volunteer with Teesside Hospice?
I started after my Grandad and Aunty were diagnosed with cancer and Teesside hospice cared for both, and they were in the IPU with 24-hour care.
What has your experience been like volunteering with Teesside Hospice?
Totally loving it. I feel as if my grandad and aunty would have wanted me to do it with the care the hospice gave them.
What has volunteering with Teesside Hospice done for you?
It has built up my confidence a lot and helped with my grieving process.
Do you have any advice for potential Teesside Hospice volunteers?
Just to come in and give it a go.
Do you have a favourite memory of volunteering at Teesside hospice?
Everything.
