Heather Stuart - Director of Nursing & Quality

Heather brings over two decades of dedicated nursing leadership to her role at Teesside Hospice, combining clinical excellence with a deep commitment to compassionate care. Her career spans acute hospital settings, specialist palliative care, and community health services, with a consistent focus on improving patient outcomes and fostering a culture of safety, dignity, and respect.
As Director of Nursing and Quality, Heather leads the strategic development of nursing services, clinical governance, and quality assurance across the hospice. She is passionate about empowering teams to deliver person-centred care, and has an unwavering advocacy for excellence, ensuring that every patient and family receives the highest standard of care and support.

Heather holds advanced qualifications in healthcare leadership and has spearheaded numerous initiatives to enhance service delivery, staff wellbeing, and regulatory compliance.

Outside of work, Heather finds joy in walking her three dogs, staying active at the gym, and exploring the stunning North East coastline and the rolling countryside of North Yorkshire. These moments of connection with nature and movement help her recharge and stay grounded in the values she brings to her professional life.
