Day Hospice

supported by the Edward Guy Foundation

Due to Coronavirus our Day Hospice is closed for the foreseeable future. If you require support please give us a call on 01642 811060 and we will be happy to help you. Thank you for your understanding.

From meditation to art classes our Day Hospice is designed to help you manage your illness, stay independent and meet other people in similar situations.

The centre which runs throughout the week provides patients who live at home the chance to benefit from our specialist care. You can chat to your lead nurse, consult your doctor and enjoy complementary therapies in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Held daily our multi-professional team offer the highest quality care and aim to:

  • Identifying your personal goals and working together to help improve your quality of life
  • Help manage your symptoms and reduce pain
  • Assist you in being as independence as possible and you to live at home
  • Provide support to your families and carers
  • Support with decisions about future care wishes, including completing documents such as Preferred Priorities for Care (PPC)
  • Support you in dealing with stress, anxiety and depression and increasing self-esteem and confidence
  • Help you to meet other people in a similar situation

We will also work closely with your primary care team (GP, District Nurse, Community Matron etc.) to ensure that your care is carefully coordinated.

For many years, our Day Hospice has been kindly supported by the Edward Guy Foundation, and in honour of this it has been aptly named the Edward and Glenis Guy Day Centre.
