The Edward & Glenis Guy Day Centre at Teesside Hospice Care Foundation - where an atmosphere of normality is provided.
Teesside Hospice's Day Centre offers professional advice and rehabilitation from our multidisciplinary team. Sixteen guests a day enjoy day care from Monday to Thursday.
Guests visit the day care centre for one day per week for a period of 3-4 months enabling them to use our services in a welcoming and homely environment. It is often referred to as the "getting on with living department" where a sense of normality is promoted at all times.
Teesside Hospice Day Care aims to provide:
- An integrated approach to caring for patients involving family doctors primary health care teams and social services.
- To promote independence and enhance a guest’s quality of life
- To offer psychological support aimed at improving strategies for dealing with stress, anxiety and depression and increased self-esteem and confidence.
- To engender hope and meaning
- To offer relief from social Isolation
- To co-ordinate health and social care networks
