It's been a very busy year over at the Hospice, and everything has been up in the air. Although one thing that had stayed constant is the level of care our staff continued to provide, across all of the services.

Therefore, we decided it was time to reward our staff, with the help of some of our friendly local corporate partners.Everyone got a chance to nominate a member of staff who they felt was a Hospice Hero and say why. The 7 winners were:

Well done to all the winners. We had some amazing thank you messages. David Smith, Chief Executive spoke about how the staff have worked as a team across the organisation, and how great it has been to be able to provide a special thank you to it's heroes. 

2020 has been tough for all of us in so many different ways. Seeing how the hospice team have responded has made me immensely proud of our whole team. Not just the front line clinicians but those who work tirelessly in the background making sure thing run smoothly and we can raise the funds we need to do our work. I’d love to have been able to give an awards to everybody but having asked the team to nominate its really great to see such a good spread of heroes from across the whole organisation. The hospice wouldn’t be here without its people and these heroes deserve this special treat to say thank you.

We would like to thank every member of staff for there continued hard work over the year. We really could not provide the level of care, and create the experiences we do without each and everyone one of you. 

Each winner was awarded hotel and dinner vouchers, with all 57 nominees getting a little something to recognise their efforts and to say thank you for all they have done. Without wonderful local company's we would not be able to celebrate our Hospice Heroes this year. 

Company's that show their support are very important in the care and compassion that we show. 

As we move to the end of 2020, we all hope the new year brings a positive outlook. The last week or so has been a real turning point for us, and we will continue to be strong and work together to provide the best possible care for everyone who comes to Teesside Hospice.
