"I lost my son, Liam Mathias Jamison, to cancer in February 2022. He was only 25 years old. He had not been ill for long and I found it very difficult to cope with it all. I was referred to to Teesside Hospice Bereavement Counselling Service where I received counselling on a regular basis.
Never having had counselling for anything before I had no idea what to expect. I found myself in a safe, friendly environment with someone who was prepared to let me vent my feelings, my guilt, my sadness at Liam's illness and subsequent passing. He helped me to understand and accept the situation.
The counselling took 6 months but I know that, although the sessions are over, someone is there for me should I ever feel I need anymore help. I will forever be thankful for the support I have received."
