Help & Support for carers

In May 2008 Teesside Hospice launched a carers' support group, aimed at providing carers with the opportunity to meet with others who share similar caring responsibilities in a friendly and informal environment.

Teesside Hospice hosts group sessions throughout the year with each group running for a six week period. The group aims to:

• Provide pratical information and advice

• Present a chance to explore the emotional impact of illness

• Offer advice and information on various support services that are available

• Help look after carers

Please note we understand it may be difficult to attend the group because of your caring commitments, please mention this when you call as it may be possible to arrange for a volunteer to stay with the person you care for whilst you attend.
