Facts and Funding
How Is The Hospice Funded?
-
Most people are very surprised to learn that our services are not fully funded by the local Primary Care Trusts.
-
Our running costs are in the excess of £1.9 million per year (2007) and the local Primary Care Trusts fund around a third of these costs.
-
We must therefore raise £3,500 per day, every day of the year through our own resources.
-
All our services are provided free of charge.
Who Do We Work With?
The Hospice works closely with local Acute Hospital Trusts, Primary Care Trusts, Macmillan Nurses, Community Nursing Teams and General Practitioners to take our specialist palliative care services and expertise to patients, families and carers.
We help over a 3,000 people every year, from Tees Valley and North Yorkshire.
Who Provides The Care At Teesside Hospice?

The team includes: Consultants in Palliative Medicine, Hospice Physicians, Specialist Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Dietician, Social Worker, Dental Hygienist, Physiotherapist, Complementary Therapist, Chaplaincy and Counselling Services.
